This project represents a traffic management system for an intersection that can automatically regulate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. At the intersection, four traffic lights are installed to control vehicle movement and four traffic lights to control pedestrian movement. A 7-segment display with a common cathode is also connected, which counts down the remaining time for the red and green lights. LED lights in three colors are used, which alternately switch in the sequence red–yellow–green–yellow–red. They are
programmatically controlled to turn on and off in the following order: green for 10 seconds, yellow for 2 seconds, red for 16 seconds, yellow for 2 seconds, and so on. The pedestrian traffic lights operate in the following sequence: red for 16 seconds and green for 10 seconds.
