Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is a leading research and study technological university in Lithuania. Since its
establishment KTU has played one of the most important roles in the building of the identity of the regional and national
academic environment, fostering and preservation of cultural and ethical values, promotion of the development of society
and education as well as research and innovation breakthrough. KTU currently has near 8000 young and talented people
and near 2000 academic employees enrolled across 9 faculties and 8 research institutes.
KTU is the leading university in the participation in H2020 competitive research grants in the Lithuania area. KTU has
participated successfully in R&D&I projects financed by the European Union and national structural funds. KTU is involved
in strong and long-term collaborations with significant international partners. The University is in cooperation with more than
350 research and academic institutions in 51 countries of the world as well as the representatives of international business
enterprises. One of KTU’s key priorities is to maintain a synergy with local businesses ant this confirm 56 new signed
cooperation agreements with business entities, 33 new established start-ups, 14 international and 9 national patent
applications submitted and 10 Lithuanian patents and 5 foreign patents for inventions were received on behalf of the
University in 2020. KTU is a member of such influential international organisations and associations as EUA, CESAER,
